In 2011, I qualified as a babywearing consultant, and founded Swindon Sling Library. In 2018 the library expanded to become Swindon and Devizes Sling Library. The library now has a selection of almost 100 slings available for hire, via slingmeets and individual consultations.

Slingmeets, which I hold in Swindon, Devizes and Lyneham, allow parents to find out about and try out different slings, as well as meet other sling users. Parents are welcome to bring their own slings, whether they are having trouble using them and need advice, or just want to show them off! And of course, if parents want to take a sling away to try before they buy (or if they just want a sling to take on holiday or for a specific event) then any of the slings are available for hire. Parents are not charged to attend Swindon or Devizes slingmeets, however any donations would be greatly appreciated, to help cover costs. It does cost £1 per family to attend the Lyneham meets, but that is charged by the venue, not by me, and it does include a drink.

Slings may be hired for £4 per week (£3 for stretchy wraps). When hiring slings you will be required to pay a deposit. This will be refunded, when you return the sling, unless the sling is damaged beyond what could be considered reasonable wear and tear.

Individual consultations can also be arranged. If held at Optimum Corner, there are three types of consult available:

 • Mini consult for £10 - up to 30 minutes support with using one or two pre-chosen slings (may be your own or the library's)

• Standard consult for £25 - up to 90 minutes support with using as many slings as time allows
 
• Extended consult for £30 - up to 2 hours support with using as many slings as time allows

However, if you would prefer a consultation in your own home, I charge £35, for up to 2 hours support with using as many slings as time allows.

I am available to do sling demonstrations at antenatal or baby and toddler groups.

Every few months I run a free antenatal sling information evening, as part of Optimum Bumps. 

I sometimes run workshops on specific subjects, such as using a stretchy wrap or back carrying. These are usually paid for events, so please follow the links for further information.
